- From Humble Beginnings...
Westway Machinery was founded in 1972 by Rudy Walter, a machine-tool specialist from Germany, and has been family-owned and operated ever since.
After emigrating to Canada in the late 1950s, Rudy worked for several significant Canadian machine distributors. Yet, it was a desire to establish his own company paired with a passion for this highly specialized sector that led him to introduce Westway Machinery to the marketplace.

In 1976, Westway Machinery moved from an office at the Walter family home into a 500 square foot unit in Mississauga.
Frank and Bernie, Rudy’s sons, joined the enterprise in 1978 and 1980 respectively. Soon after, in 1982, Westway began importing sheet metal machinery from Taiwan.
As Westway Machinery grew their warehousing capacity needed to increase. As well they had increased their staff to ten full-time employees.
- We’ve Grown to Serve the Market...
In 1992, Westway Machinery purchased and relocated to 2370 Cawthra Road, where they have been in operation ever since.
New lines of products were added, and greater focus was paid to metal stamping and forming industries. As demand grew, so did Westway.
By 2000, Westway expanded its warehouse by 8,000 square feet and welcomed a 30-ton crane to assist in moving machinery throughout its now 28,000 square foot location.

From our beginnings as a supplier of used machinery, Westway Machinery has evolved into one of Canada’s leading providers of metal fabrication equipment, offering a vast selection of metal forming machinery.
